Twinkling Lights
03:32
|
|||
There's frost in the air
But there's home in your eyes
And everything is still
But the twinkling lights
The shopfronts are cozy
And faces aglow
As we watch two angels kiss
In the fresh-fallen snow
A warm mug of chocolate
A sweet wagging tail
Let's carve some gingerbread men
Out of cookie dough
You've never looked so charming
With flour on your nose
Won't you join me for a dance
By the fire as it grows
Now come lay beside me
Here under the tree
And watch the colors blinking
So merrily
But make one good wish
Before you're asleep
You never know what awaits you
Tonight in your dreams

Hey
02:33
|
|||
Walking the misty streets alone
A distant bell strikes a hollow tone
I turn and there you are
Trying to fix your broken car
And I say
Hey, I’m going to find a tree
And do you wanna come with me?
There’ll be laughs and maybe some photographs
We’ll look on in twenty years
And we’ll say
Hey, who are those two young kids
Laughing in the starlight of the pinecone grids
And to think that all it took
Was just a feeling and a look
Life can be so hard
But the simple things are where we start
So I say
Hey, why don’t you stay with me
For as long as you like or eternity
Every year, we’ll get our tree
And maybe someday
We’ll be three

The Blizzard
02:16
|
|||
The embers are melting together
As the newsman rants about the weather
There's a blizzard on the horizon
And they say that dark times are coming
But I think if we stick together
There is no storm that we cannot better
With a gentle touch and some laughter
We can meet whatever comes after
So hold open the door for a stranger
Have a drink with a timid new neighbor
Till the bitter cold has subsided
And our hearts are newly united

New Year's Eve
04:19
|
|||
Pulling out the party hats and shakers
Glitter garlands decked upon the tree
‘Cause dear old friends and new year makers
Are coming to greet me
Soon they’ll be arriving at my doorstep
I’ll still be in my towel with my hair wet
But no one cares, no reason to fret
We’ve been through it all
And every year from dusk to dawn
We’ll be trading stories till the champagne’s gone
There’ll be laughter rising
Revitalizing
Our tired hearts and toasty, loosened limbs
And we will dance like we mean it
And keep on dancing all night long
We’ll keep on dancing long past
The stroke of midnight’s gone
Some of us have had a good one of it
Drinking down the dregs before we reset
Others would just rather forget
And start from the start
But no matter the sweetness or the sorrow
We’ll be together waiting for tomorrow
And no one knows where’s this one will go
But go it will go
And every year from dusk to dawn
We’ll be trading stories till the champagne’s gone
There’ll be laughter rising
Revitalizing
Our tired hearts and toasty, loosened limbs
And we will dance like we mean it
And keep on dancing all night long
We’ll keep on dancing long past
The stroke of midnight’s gone
And keep on dancing
Like we feel it
Without a thought to looking wrong
There’s something in this moment
I could sail the whole year on
Long ago I did hear
What you do on the first day
You’ll do all year
And I want to live and laugh and breathe
With the ones I hold so dear
And dance like we mean it
And keep on dancing all night long
We’ll keep on dancing long past
The stroke of midnight’s gone
And keep on dancing
Like we feel it
Without a thought to looking wrong
There’s something in this moment
I could sail the whole year on

A Winter's Wish
04:56
|
|||
Sitting 'round the fire's edge
And warming hearts with a winter's pledge
To find out how we've gotten here
And heal this world that's lost in fear
I've heard it sung in songs of old
But only now have I understood
If there's one thing I wish this year
It's peace for mankind far and near
Something that I would die for
Though it's something I'll never hold
Something I'd really try for
In this barren, bone-chilling cold
The reckoning hour's upon us now
And all we've done will bloom and grow
And we will reap the seeds we sow
If love you've given then love you'll know
Something that I would die for
Though it's something I'll never hold
Something I'd really try for
In this barren, bone-chilling cold
Hold the ones you love real close
And make each moment count the most
Oh I wish you well, my friends
May peace be yours as this year ends
